In the period 29.05.2023-31.05.2023, the second edition of (Research and Innovation Symposium for European Security and Defense (RISE-SD 2023) was held in Rhodes, Greece. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Defense Institute in association with Satways Ltd and the Hellenic Center for Research and Technological Development (CERTH).

On the eve of May 20 - the International Day of Metrology, the Institute of Defence held an annual training course for servicemen and civilians from the Bulgarian Army and the Structures directly subordinated to the Minister of Defense for the training of specialists in the field of metrology.

The event, which took place from May 10 to 12, was attended by 35 trainees, and all employees from the Central Laboratory for Measuring Equipment department took part as lecturers on the individual types of measurements.

On 11/22/2022 at the Central Military Club in Sofia, the Bulgarian Institute of Defense together with AFCEA section Sofia organized an annual conference entitled "Modernization of the armament and equipment of the Bulgarian Army. Restart.”

The Bulgarian Defence Institute and the Varna Naval Academy have organized and hosted the 50th Applied Vehicle Technology Panel, the Science and Technology Organization’s expert Panel that addresses platform technologies for vehicles operating in all domains (land, sea, air, and space), held its very successful 50th Panel Business Meeting in the Bulgarian sea capitol Varna from 26-30 September 2022.
