In the period 29.05.2023-31.05.2023, the second edition of (Research and Innovation Symposium for European Security and Defense (RISE-SD 2023) was held in Rhodes, Greece. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Defense Institute in association with Satways Ltd and the Hellenic Center for Research and Technological Development (CERTH).

The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for the dissemination of scientific results, support knowledge exchange and create networking and clustering opportunities for security stakeholders funded by international security and defense projects.

During the event, 37 international research projects focused on security and defense research were presented, showing the results achieved in the context of the EU programs EDF, Horizon (2020 & E.U.) and ISF.

A number of presentations were given and demonstrations of various technological solutions developed in the context of jointly organized EU R&D projects took place. Participants had the opportunity to communicate with system developers and researchers and learn more about innovative solutions developed with the support of the European Commission.

With this second edition, the symposium becomes a traditional event that strengthens the collaboration between scientific and research organizations, the European security industry, security and defense professionals and other interested public and private parties.
