Workshop on: European Defense Fund (EDF)

On August 16, 2023, at the Central Military Club in Sofia, the Institute of Defense organized a workshop on the topic "European Defense Fund" (EDF). The meeting was opened by Colonel Borislav Genov - Director of the Defense Institute, who welcomed the participants in the meeting and was continued by Colonel Nikolay Stoyanov - Deputy Director of the Defense Institute.

CyberTwin PROJECT WORKSHOP

Workshop on the topic "Analysis of the participation of the Defense Institute in EDF projects and prospects for development", organized under the CyberTwin project Reinforcing the Scientific Excellence and Innovation Capacity in Cyber Security through Twinning was held on 18 – 20 July 2023.

Symposium"Research and Innovation for European Security and Defense - Rise-SD 2023"

In the period 29.05.2023-31.05.2023, the second edition of (Research and Innovation Symposium for European Security and Defense (RISE-SD 2023) was held in Rhodes, Greece. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Defense Institute in association with Satways Ltd and the Hellenic Center for Research and Technological Development (CERTH).

Training in metrology in Defence Institute

On the eve of May 20 - the International Day of Metrology, the Institute of Defence held an annual training course for servicemen and civilians from the Bulgarian Army and the Structures directly subordinated to the Minister of Defense for the training of specialists in the field of metrology.

The event, which took place from May 10 to 12, was attended by 35 trainees, and all employees from the Central Laboratory for Measuring Equipment department took part as lecturers on the individual types of measurements.

First NOTIONES Conference

The First NOTIONES Conference: Emerging Technologies for Law Enforcement and Intelligence Services took place on June 15th, 2022 in Brussels.
Two experts from the Defence Institute – Prof. Dr.Sc. Yantsislav Yanakiev and Ms. Iva Ranova took part in it.
The goal of the NOTIONES conference was to deepen the understanding of existing and emerging technologies in the fields of intelligence and law enforcement. The program included a keynote speech, presentations about the NOTIONES project, and a panel discussion. During the conference, the participants could also engage in sessions and workshops.
