On September 30, 2020, the Defence Institute started  its participation in the XIV International Defence Equipment and Services Exhibition "Hemus 2020 - Defence, Antiterterrorism, Security". Traditionally, it holds in the International Fair Plovdiv under the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Economy patronage.

The Institute participates with a representative booth and the organization of two important supporting events - the X International Scientific Conference on the 1st of October, and the Demonstration Shootings of the “Zmeiovo” Central Artillery Technical Testing Range on the 2nd  of October. During the shootings will be tested new product samples.

On the very first day of "Hemus 2020" the program of the Director of the Institute Colonel PhD Dimitar Kirkov was intensive. It began with his participation in the press conference of the Deputy Defence Minister Mr. Anatoly Velichkov, Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Stamen Yanev and the Chairman of the Management Board of the “Hemus-95” Foundation Rear Admiral Nikolay Nikolov and media. The program continued with a presence at the official opening ceremony of the Exhibition. The personal invitation to Colonel Ph.D. Kirkov by the President Rumen Radev to participate in the meeting together with Minister of Defence Mr. Krasimir Karakachanov, Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov, Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov with the heads of the leading companies and enterprises of the Bulgarian Defence Industry is a testament to the authority of the Defence Institute. His programme ended with participation in the meeting "The European Programme for Industrial Development in Defence and the European Defence Fund and the prospects for the Bulgarian defiance industry", organized by the Industrial Forum.

Throughout the day, accompanying bilateral meetings and talks were held with representatives of the organizations, companies and enterprises participating in “Hemus 2020”.

The interest of the Institute's booth was significant.

"Hemus 2020" will end on the 3rd of October with handing certificates to the participants.
